Wifi H264 IP Camera with Pan & Tilt, Night Vision, 2 Way Audio on Apple Mac, Windows, @gmail compatible. SD Flash

Functionality meets Practicality, (What's this?) IE browsers only and you cannot view video in the browser with Windows XP and Vista--negating the attractive remote WAN connectivity. Supplied surface mount is great for just about any surface. Network setup is not bad for anyone who's fooled around with their router setup before. Instructions are easy to follow.

Video quality is where they make their money. If you're okay with being able to distinguish 64 colors, a smile from a frown, and aren't concerned with concealing the power cable, this model will do an excellent job.

I've also had some trouble with high capacity SD cards (HCSD). Avoid them. do some research for the appropriate model/brand for static memory cards with 4GB or more storage.
Good camera, relatively easy setup, (What's this?) Just got it today, had basic functionality going in 20 minutes without reading the manual.

First of all, this is VGA resolution, the "mega-pixel" description in the Amazon description is deceptive.

However, the video is pleasing, and you have good control over the frame rate and bit rate. It was easy to get snapshots and video recording operational. It is far more tied to Windows and Internet Explorer than they imply. Couldn't get anything going with Firefox on either a Mac or Linux machine.

Setup is straighforward if you understand networking config. It's not for a beginner. But the software seems well-written, and the manual is usable, even if written in broken English.
No support - incomplete description, (What's this?) The other reviews on this product looked good and it's quite likely the hardware is good, but there are some MAJOR problems with setup:

1) The box comes with no manual or paper documentation at all. It only comes with a mini CD which won't work in any system with a slot-fed CD drive (including virtually all macs).
2) There is no web site to support the product either, so you can't download the docs when you realize the mini CD is a big problem. (This is 2011 and it's a technology product. No web site? Really?)
3) Even once you get the files off the mini CD you will find out that the basic configuration tools are all PC-only (.exe files). This wasn't clear in the product listing.
4) With most IP cameras you'd imagine it'd be no big deal - you'd just connect it to your network and connect with a browser. No luck.
Great Company!, (What's this?) I have been searching for one of these types of cameras for awhile and after reading the reviews about the terrific customer service, I called IPcam. I spoke with David, the person about whom everyone is raving. He is truly terrific and incredibly helpful as I described how I intended to use this product. I ordered the Wifi H264 IP Camera today and will update my review after receiving it but I gave the product five stars just because of David. He is knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond to assist his customers. I googled the other seller for this same camera and decided that I definitely made a wise decision to buy from IPcam.
Quite good, (What's this?) This camera is very nice. It is not hard to set up, although multiple cameras will require a little knowledge of port forwarding and the like. A basic knowledge of networking really helps speed time up. The setup instructions are in broken english, but they're not hard to decipher. The instructions on the disk are in MS Word format, so be ready for that.

The picture quality is quite good, the features are very good, and for the price I think it's winner.

The only small complaints I have are:
1) no autofocus
2) the color can be a bit difficult to fine tune correctly, based on your lighting conditions.
3) wish it had https capability

but again, those complaints are minor.
Wifi H264 IP Camera, sold by Cable Volume, (What's this?) I received the camera and plugged it into my Verizon router, which is connected to my Windows 7 (64 bit) computer. I used the HSearch software, which was supposed to allow you to change the IP address of the camera, which the manual said you needed to change. The software found the camera. I tried to change the IP address on the camera unsuccessfully, since it kept switching back to the old value. I closed the HSearch software and restarted and from then on the software could not find the camera again, no matter what I tried to do. I searched for support from the seller, Cable Volume, to see if they had a website with tech support information, but they appear to have no web site nor customer support line at all. I was not going to look forever, so I returned the item to Amazon for a refund. Not sure which camera I will buy next. I may get the same camera, but this time from a respected dealer.
Exactly what i wanted, (What's this?) I spent a couple of days checking IP Cameras description, user reviews and some manuals cause I didn't know exactly what could i expected for this kind of products.
After check a little all this info, I created a list of requisites:
- Wireless,
- Internet access/control,
- Recording feature,
- Night vision,
- No anual/monthly fee.
Running this filter, a couple of options appeared and finally I choose this cam.

Why I choose this one?
You can find a lot of similar cams around, but after some research I found just one US importer. Then, each reseller point add its own brand but actually it's the same camera.
So I choose IPCam Central as seller, cause they have a website and I can find drivers, manual and software online for this cam (just in case) even the box comes with a mini-cd. To be honest, I didn't even use the mini-cd but the online files in that site, so I got the most updated software.

Hands on...
I read a looooooot of bad reviews about the installation process, bad experiences, people hating the product, the seller, etc. and not only about this cam, other first brands like Logitech or Panasonic had bad reviews too.
Great all around web camera, (What's this?) This SmartEye web camera operates at up to 640x480 resolution, enough for most web applications. It does everything as advertised. Makes a good baby monitor or home security camera, viewable from iPhone.
Not enough info & description, (What's this?) This camera comes without any manuals. Only CD, which had some .Doc files with manual.
FYI: Default user/pass: admin / 123456

Device is not easy to configure. IE being easiest. Need to install 3rd party software for it to work.
Are you kidding?, (What's this?) This camera might be great...if you can get it to function. I couldn't get the software it comes with to run on Windows 7, and the mini CD will not go into my MacBook Pro. There is no user manual other than the mini CD. After two hours of attempts at just making the software work, I decided life is too short and this camera is too complicated to possibly be worth bending over backwards to try to get it functional. If something can't work out of the box in much shorter time than that...it doesn't work.

After this camera, I tried the FOSCAM and spent around 20 hours trying to configure it for remote access through my router. It never worked. Finally, I settled on the Astak Mole...works like a charm and only took about 10 minutes to setup.
