Black 5.0 MegaPixel USB 2.0 Digital Webcam with Mic worst camera ever

worst camera ever, (What's this?) the camera is so blurry and cant focus it... mic dont work...
Okay & Inexpensive, (What's this?) Works pretty good. Not good with motion as in capture of a moving object using EvoCam with a MacBook Pro, but pretty good image when nothing is moving very fast.

It has a very clever stand assembly. You can even get it to balance on the top of the MacBook display. But I didn't get it for that. I intend to get still shots of items I'm inventorying.

Have not tried the audio aspect just yet. Don't really need it, at this point. Maybe later.
I Love This, (
works well with skype, (What's this?) The camera was recognized by skype instantly on both a windows XP machine and a windows 7 machine, and it works well providing sharp color images (you may need to turn the lens to focus). It does not come with any software or packing box or manual and its field of view is narrow, but, hey, what doe you expect for a five-buck camera. I am very happy with it.
Do Not Like!!, (What's this?) The camera is real blurry!! Have a friend who bought one at Ross for $8.00 that works great. Would not buy this again. Glad I only spent like $5.00... Guess the saying is true, you get what you pay for...
did not hold up, (What's this?) The camera tends to just zoom in way too close without any control by us. Maybe it is set to focus on something but I can't get it to work properly. It worked fine for a week or so.
good webcam for skype users, (What's this?) It works really good , it didn't even need any software u can just plug it in and start your video chat...I even like the picture quality.I wasn't expecting this for $4.77 as my husband used to say "quality never comes cheep" but now he has to agree "quality may come cheep".
Works Good right out of box, (What's this?) This camera and microphone worked very good for me. Lens not adjustable. I have Windows XP and I plugged it in and it worked right away.
Digital webcam, (What's this?) Great Digital Webcam. I can see my son-in-law in Afganstan so well now. We are having a ball with it.
Webcam a bajo precio, (What's this?) Black 5.0 MegaPixel USB 2.0 Digital Webcam with Mic

Black 5.0 MegaPixel USB 2.0 Digital Webcam with Mic Works for what we wanted

stinks, webcam has bad mic and bad camera
its like 5 fps very unclear and the mic does not pick up my voice. you have to be 2 inches from it
also does not come with any software for download. computer will not read it until you download one which is not included.
Good for the low price, (What's this?) Set up was easy. It works with Skype. Not bad picture quality. Sometimes it zooms in and out randomly.
OMG BEST CAM EVER, BEST CAM IVE SEEN O.
Pretty good for the price, (What's this?) I got this camera to skype with my family. It works fine. I had a little problems with the picture quality at the beginning, but then I found out all I had to do was focus it manually. Now it works great.
You get what you pay for, (What's this?) This is an inexpensive web cam so do not expect great things. It has a slow frame-rate, which makes video calling choppy and low quality. The focus is manual and the picture is very sensitive to light, which makes for a washed out picture/video. The only "software" is a downloadable driver, and the instructions at the site are not useful. All the controls are manual and do not even help to improve picture quality.
ok item, (What's this?) I received the cam promptly, it was well packaged. It works, but it's fussy about the lighting. It drops frames if you move.
Works for what we wanted, (What's this?) I purchased this for my wife to use on Skype when I travel. We tested it out and it works fine.
Nice gift, (What's this?) I got this for my best friend so we could Skype and he tells me all the time that he loves it.
good, ok its good but i need a driver for it where can i get the driver. I like the cam just need a diver and other than that its great.
Good for the price, (What's this?) Its pretty much as described and for the price its not a bad deal. When I first tried to use it I was pretty disappointed with the viewing angle. I was hoping to use this camera to monitor a room as a type of security camera, how ever the viewing angle is so small I could not use it for that purpose. If it had a wider angle it probably would have been good however with such a small viewing angle its use is really limited to things like Skype.

do not buy, (What's this?) I know its tempting, so cheap and free shipping but this is definitely a "you get what you pay for" kinda situation. The quality is poor, it is not the color shown, the refresh rate takes about 4 seconds. This is just awful.

Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks Pro Great Webcam

Good Camera, (What's this?) Seller shipped fast, it came in it's original packaging. I had some trouble installing it at first, but now it's working fine. No problems yet. I'm happy with my purchase. It's a GREAT camera for such an extremely low price.
Great Webcam, (What's this?) Works like a charm. Great video quality. The software that comes with it it good. The echo cancellation works great, no nead for headphones. Cool animations.
Good item for the price., (What's this?) Not much to say here. Plug it in and clip it to your screen and you're good to go. I didn't use the installation disc, instead I found the drivers online. A lot of people said the installation disc includes a bunch of useless stuff that just weighs down your laptop anyway.

I have used it for Skying and it works just fine. The mic also seems to operate great.

Came with a carrying case so it travels well.

Picture seems a little sensitive to light. Just make sure you good room lighting when you use it and there shouldn't be any problems.

For the money, I am very pleased with it.
It's simply awesome, (What's this?) I was looking for a web cam with inbuilt mic and I got exactly the same with best pic and sound quality.
Logitech Quickcam, (What's this?) Great little add-on video camera for a laptop. Small, good clip to attach it to the top of the screen border area.
Although this is not the latest product from Logitech it is an excellent value and should please most anyone looking
to pickup a nice cheep add-on camera. One thing to keep in mind.
Great value cam, (What's this?) I've had this cam about a year now. I'm no techy but it works fine for me with all my video chats in yahoo messenger and skype. Picture quality is great. I don't know why or if it's normal, but when the cam is on my laptop gets extremely hot. When I bought this cam it was on sale, I paid about 15 bucks for it, which was great value for me because I got it in a nice solid durable travel case with earphone. Although the cam has built in speakers I always prefer to use the earphone for privacy.
VERY NICE, (What's this?) I havent used it for video chat yet. But i can see myself on mylaptop PERFECTLY. I am very pleased with this product especially at this price. The microphone is very loud you will need to turn it down. PIC is crystal Clear.
Wonderful product, (What's this?) The installation and ease of use was astounding. I was worried when I read some of the previous reviews but when I set it up I had no problems and absolutely love the camera with microphone. This makes life easier when my daughter is in the hospital and can't see her siblings or father for long periods of time so that she still gets daddy to read to her at night before bed. Thank you for an awesome camera and mic.
logitech quickcam for notebooks pro, (What's this?) well let me start off by saying this is a wonderfull webcam in the day time and in alot of light but if you have low light its going to look dark. but overall great pics 10 seconds selftimer for pics and modes are great.
ok for the price!, (What's this?) The delivery and everything was pretty good.
But the cam gets stuck before starting..but once it starts broadcasting its uninterrupted..can use it only on skype for now..doesnt work with yahoo messenger..
and its a bit bulky for a 2MP camera..But then the price was the clincher..if looking for quality ,certainly this is not for you..

HP Pro Webcam Nice Camera for the price

    hp web cam, (What's this?)
Appalling video quality, There is no way anyone could find any use for this product. The video quality is absolutely shambolic. i was expecting it to be low res so a small video could be shot but all it is a blur.
Bad Webcam, (What's this?) When I got this webcam I knew that it was cheap but I had high hopes for it because it was HP. I was severely disappointed. The person who sent it to me did get it to me in a timely manner though so this is not a bad review for them, just that they sold me a crappy webcam and thought that hey, I wouldn't mind.
Adjust the Focus!!!, I bought this web cam for <$30 not really expecting too much. With only the Apple UVC driver, it works well enough on the mac mini I installed it on. The frame rate is a bit low but the the exposure seems to adjust for the lighting conditions well enough and the microphone works pretty well too.

For those complaining about out of focus images, It's NOT an auto-focusing camera!! Twist the black ring on the front of the camera out until the image is in focus.
Like it since I learned how to use it, (What's this?) The instructions were poor, but I had someone to assist me with the product through the webcam, I was ready to return it, but now I am enjoying seeing family that I miss across the miles.
HP Pro CrappyCam, (What's this?) Image quality Stinks. Supposed to be VGA. Looks to crappy to be VGA. Sorry. I love HP stuff but really don't like this cam.
Wish I would have read the reviews, Majority are always right..., I purchased to Skype to my family in Japan and Germany. The picture quality is horrid, just a blurry blob on the screen. What's the use of using webcam when it just looks like some blurp moving around the screen. Absolutely returning today, for Logitech. The HP software seems to have a lot of bells and whistles that would be neat, if the picture was clear. Again, whats the point of bells and whistles when even the still shots are blurry. Don't waste your money on this product, it does not live up to the expected HP name. Shame on them.
It's ok, (What's this?) Doesn't seem so different from the one before it. Of course it's delayed. Cool features to it. It's cheap, which makes it good.
Nice Camera for the price, (What's this?) Ordered this camera because we have a brand new HP laptop.
The camera was easy to install and has alot of neat functions.

I have just one slight problem and it is nothing major. The holder for it to be on the top of your laptop screen is not made for the new slim design. It is a little wobbly and if you move your laptop the camera will not stay in place.
Mistrust HP products now..., After Installing software and the cam, I wanted to use it. DUH! Software informed I would have to buy software to run it. WHAT? I didn't fall for the pitch, and yes, there are drivers you don't have to pay for if you want to be bothered to look for them. What a shabby trick HP! After reading the reviews here on the quality, I probably would have taken it back anyway, but I won't be trying anything HP again because of that tactic.

HP, we want convenience at a fair price. I feel bad for the people who fall for it, buy the software only to see how bad the quality of the picture.

5.0 Megapixel USB PC Webcam Camera for PC Laptop Noteboo Basic webcam, works with linux

Great Web Cam, (What's this?) I bought this in conjunction with a headset/microphone prior to my move across country from Missouri to Washington. The purpose was the fact that I would be Skyping with my daughter and needed something reliable. From the moment I plugged it in I was amazed by the clarity and ease of use.
Not what it claims to be, still good webcam., (What's this?) Firstly, this webcam is not a 5.0 Megapixel Camera. It's the name of the camera, as misleading as that sounds.

However, I bought the webcam knowing that it wasn't going to be a super high quality one, and I've been mostly satisfied with it.
In terms of video quality, it's not bad. The image can sometimes be a little grainy, but that might be my signal quality as well. I have no problems making out faces or seeing anything I need to see. It stays firmly and comfortable on it's base, and I've never had any problems with it falling over, or being knocked around. It's actually pretty decent!

However, I did have a few minor issues with it. the first issues is that there is no microphone in this webcam, so you'll need to get a separate mic attachment. I also knew that when I bought it, but it's still a feature that I would like to see in this models.
Toy-like simplicity in a functional-yet-inexpensive webcam, (What's this?) For under ten bucks, this is a surprisingly reliable webcam. Structurally, it does feel like a "my first webcam" toy; almost entirely plastic. While the screw-tightened suction cup seems like a winner, the cup itself is more rigid than a typical car GPS mount; nothing short of perfectly flat glass will hold the seal for more than a few minutes.

The LED lighting is purely analog, there's no way to control the lights via software; only the dial on the cord will adjust it. The dial feels like a headphone volume control. Also, the lights only dim so much, then completely turn off. (likely a voltage threshold of the diodes themselves)

The advertised image size (5MP) is probably exaggerated. There's no OEM software to "plump-up" the megapix, so it's what-you-see-is-what-you-get performance. In Ubuntu, the "Camorama" program shows the largest resolution as around 800x600 at 8.5 fps. (yes, it is connected to USB 2.0 port) Not exactly 5MP, more like under 2MP unless there's a magic app' out there that can extract more pixels from it.

I wouldn't expect a pro-quality device for under fifty bucks, anyway. It would seem you get what you pay for, but if you're paying for a basic skype-worthy-non-HD webcam, then this hits the mark perfectly.
Seller Lies about product, (What's this?) The product claims to be 5.0 megapixel but is actual VGA or 640x480 pixels. The light isn't adjustable like the description implies. It included no software and the suction cup doesn't work in the slightest. Do not buy.
Basic webcam, works with linux, (What's this?) Not bad for a cheap webcam, has LED lights which can be adjusted, works with linux. It is only 2.0MP though not 5.
Great especially at the cost, If you download manycam; a free webcam software you can take great pictures or videos with all kinds of effects. The cam does not come with software, so manycam is a good free software to compliment this camera. Without downloading software it should still work for video conferencing. I have yahoo and it worked with that after simply plugging the camera in.

    I hope this is useful.
Cheap, (What's this?) The description says; "Brand new high quality USB Night Vision PC Web Camera". I take exception to the phrase "high quality".
Great camera for the $$, (What's this?) I needed an inexpensive camera for my laptop in order to Skype with family across the country. For $5 this camera is outstanding. It does not feel like a toy and the picture quality is outstanding.
Clear., (What's this?) When i received this webcam it turned out to be a eight megapixel webcam not five. It works great with clearness and has leds for lighting.
Great Webcam (Especially For Price)!!!, (What's this?) While this webcam does indeed look and feel like a cheap kids toy, it actually works surprising well for being a little over five bucks! The only downside is that there was no instruction manual included in the packaging (the packaging = the webcam inside a ziplock bag), although it was easy to learn some of the major features(i.e. adjusting the focus and turning the lights on/off) on my own.

Creative Live! Cam InPerson HD Webcam

waste of money - poor quality pics and video, bought this to compensate for the poor built-in webcam on toshiba's 755d laptop.
Size isn't always a determining factor, (What's this?) I purchased two of these webcams to use in conference room applications. One proved defective early on, but by the time I got around trying to return it to Amazon the return window had closed. So I had to return it directly to Creative for repair/replacement. Two weeks later, I got a replacement unit.

All in all, I tend to agree with both the positive and negative reviews of this product. As long as you install the Creative software to control this webcam, you'll probably be satisfied with the picture and sound quality. It doesn't seem to do a very good job following people talking: it will pan and zoom all over the place in a large room with many participants with no apparent logic. But viewers tell me they are impressed with the picture and the sound.

It's very wide and hefty, making it a very sturdy addition to a wide screen TV.
Works well once you are up and running, Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) The size is a little larger then normal and I admit it was a little glitchy at first but this could be due to my settings.. once it was up and running though it did a great job and better then most as far as images.
Super Bulky, Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) I thought that this camera would be the best ever based on all the features and the price, but I was wrong. The installation took more than a few minutes to complete because after the software is installed the system will search for updates and download those updates. It takes forever. Once the installation is finished everything seems to move very quickly IF you have Windows 7.
The image is below my expectations. I thought it was the type of light in my room so I moved to the sun room and the quality of the image remained very grainy. I changed the settings with no results.
The kinetic feature is horrible, the camera would not be able to maintain focus unless you would not move at all.I am so frustrated with the performance of this device, it was a complete waste of money. I went back to my old Logitech webcam and have absolutely no problems.
Adequate, not stellar, Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) Physically it works fine, it sits on top of the screen, and mounts well. The software for remote access works well, and the video chat works. The quality is not HD, and it has sluggish video. It is comparable to other cameras that cost less than fifty.
    Fabulous Webcam, (What's this?)
Low Quality, Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) With our family out west, we often enjoy webcam chats with them. We've switched to doing our chats via our XBOX Kinect as it follows us well and it is fun to chat in the comfort of our own living room. While the quality wasn't the best, it did the job. Wanting to try something high quality, I tried the Creative Live! Cam InPerson HD Webcam. The results were not impressive.

Setup in Windows 7 was an easy plug in play. Windows Live Messenger found the camera right away and we were on our way to a video chat. The family members on the other end complained of less than HD quality to the chats. I first checked the internet speeds on both ends and both were more than adequate for video chats. Still, nothing HD quality was being presented. Our family members requested that we go back to the Kinect.

The less than stellar video quality is a show stopper here. Plus with the comfort and ease of use of the Kinect video chat, it is kind of hard to go back to webcam chats on the desktop.
Big price. Mediocre video quality. Bloated software., Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) Usually you get what you pay for, but in the case of the "Creative Live! Cam InPerson HD Webcam", you sure don't. My old Creative Cam is several years old. It cost less than $50, has just as good video quality if not better, and is a fraction of the size of this 9" webcam. Out of the box, the Creative Live! Cam InPerson HD Webcam was easy to install, although the included bloated software did take several minutes to install. Getting this huge webcam in an acceptable viewing angle on top of my 22" monitor was a chore. After installing the software, a "check for updates" came up with a driver update, and an update to the "Live! Central 3" software. To give you an idea how bloated the software is, the update was over 400MB. Once everything was installed and updated, I put the camera to the test. What a disappointment. Even in my well lit office, video was grainy, and the camera had trouble maintaining focus. I tried manually changing the cam's settings in an attempt to improve the video quality. Nothing I could do made a major difference. PQ is just mediocre at best. At his price point, this is unacceptable. If this was a $30 webcam, it would be acceptable, but not at well over $100. If you're looking for a high quality webcam, this isn't it. It produces noisy mediocre video. For less than 1/2 the price, you can find cam's that will outperform the "Creative Live! Cam InPerson HD Webcam". Look elsewhere.
Average video, great audio, mixed software (great for kids), Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?) I found the video quality on this camera to be quite average. The audio quality is great though. I was previously using a 2 year old Microsoft webcam, and I have been told by people that I Skype with that there definitely is an improvement in the video and audio they are experiencing from my end since switching to this camera. I don't know how the quality compares to other webcams that are out there right now, but I suspect there are better ones at a lower price.

The included Live! Central 3 software is pretty expansive. There are a lot of options for adjusting the video lighting and coloring, as well as panning and zooming. There are also some great noise cancellation and audio focusing options that improve the audio quality even further, depending on your situation and environment. The software also includes lots of fun video affects for the kids, like putting yourself in dopey scenes, or putting glasses and hats on you that automatically track your face. You can also have an "avatar" that tracks your mouth movement and applies it to different characters, like an alien and a cat. Yaay.

There is a streaming video piece to the software that allows you to stream to a mobile device. However, it is developed by a third-party, and anything past their simple free version costs $50-ish (Android price). I couldn't even get it to work because the streamer side that is installed on your computer has a problem, at least when I try it. I go to add my camera, select a name for the camera, and enter a password. The next step is SUPPOSED TO allow you to associate it with your account, but it never shows the field that allows you to enter your account. So I could not even try the mobile streaming because of this. Which is fine, since I find the third-party free version of their software a little questionable when it comes to privacy, security, and encrypted data.

OK video, great audio, useful and fun software (except for the streaming). A bit high on price. Average score.
Sharper than Logitech Pro 9000, (What's this?) Video images appear sharper than my Logitech 9000 Pro and the improvement in sound is much more noticeable. Plugged in a HTPC (core i3 540/4 GB/120 GB SSD, Win 7).

Received a real good deal from here; am very pleased.

Wifi H264 IP Camera with Pan & Tilt, Night Vision, 2 Way Audio on Apple Mac, Windows, @gmail compatible. SD Flash

Functionality meets Practicality, (What's this?) IE browsers only and you cannot view video in the browser with Windows XP and Vista--negating the attractive remote WAN connectivity. Supplied surface mount is great for just about any surface. Network setup is not bad for anyone who's fooled around with their router setup before. Instructions are easy to follow.

Video quality is where they make their money. If you're okay with being able to distinguish 64 colors, a smile from a frown, and aren't concerned with concealing the power cable, this model will do an excellent job.

I've also had some trouble with high capacity SD cards (HCSD). Avoid them. do some research for the appropriate model/brand for static memory cards with 4GB or more storage.
Good camera, relatively easy setup, (What's this?) Just got it today, had basic functionality going in 20 minutes without reading the manual.

First of all, this is VGA resolution, the "mega-pixel" description in the Amazon description is deceptive.

However, the video is pleasing, and you have good control over the frame rate and bit rate. It was easy to get snapshots and video recording operational. It is far more tied to Windows and Internet Explorer than they imply. Couldn't get anything going with Firefox on either a Mac or Linux machine.

Setup is straighforward if you understand networking config. It's not for a beginner. But the software seems well-written, and the manual is usable, even if written in broken English.
No support - incomplete description, (What's this?) The other reviews on this product looked good and it's quite likely the hardware is good, but there are some MAJOR problems with setup:

    1) The box comes with no manual or paper documentation at all. It only comes with a mini CD which won't work in any system with a slot-fed CD drive (including virtually all macs).
    2) There is no web site to support the product either, so you can't download the docs when you realize the mini CD is a big problem. (This is 2011 and it's a technology product. No web site? Really?)
    3) Even once you get the files off the mini CD you will find out that the basic configuration tools are all PC-only (.exe files). This wasn't clear in the product listing.
    4) With most IP cameras you'd imagine it'd be no big deal - you'd just connect it to your network and connect with a browser. No luck.
Great Company!, (What's this?) I have been searching for one of these types of cameras for awhile and after reading the reviews about the terrific customer service, I called IPcam. I spoke with David, the person about whom everyone is raving. He is truly terrific and incredibly helpful as I described how I intended to use this product. I ordered the Wifi H264 IP Camera today and will update my review after receiving it but I gave the product five stars just because of David. He is knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond to assist his customers. I googled the other seller for this same camera and decided that I definitely made a wise decision to buy from IPcam.
Quite good, (What's this?) This camera is very nice. It is not hard to set up, although multiple cameras will require a little knowledge of port forwarding and the like. A basic knowledge of networking really helps speed time up. The setup instructions are in broken english, but they're not hard to decipher. The instructions on the disk are in MS Word format, so be ready for that.

The picture quality is quite good, the features are very good, and for the price I think it's winner.

The only small complaints I have are:
    1) no autofocus
    2) the color can be a bit difficult to fine tune correctly, based on your lighting conditions.
    3) wish it had https capability

but again, those complaints are minor.
Wifi H264 IP Camera, sold by Cable Volume, (What's this?) I received the camera and plugged it into my Verizon router, which is connected to my Windows 7 (64 bit) computer. I used the HSearch software, which was supposed to allow you to change the IP address of the camera, which the manual said you needed to change. The software found the camera. I tried to change the IP address on the camera unsuccessfully, since it kept switching back to the old value. I closed the HSearch software and restarted and from then on the software could not find the camera again, no matter what I tried to do. I searched for support from the seller, Cable Volume, to see if they had a website with tech support information, but they appear to have no web site nor customer support line at all. I was not going to look forever, so I returned the item to Amazon for a refund. Not sure which camera I will buy next. I may get the same camera, but this time from a respected dealer.
Exactly what i wanted, (What's this?) I spent a couple of days checking IP Cameras description, user reviews and some manuals cause I didn't know exactly what could i expected for this kind of products.
After check a little all this info, I created a list of requisites:
    - Wireless,
    - Internet access/control,
    - Recording feature,
    - Night vision,
    - No anual/monthly fee.
Running this filter, a couple of options appeared and finally I choose this cam.

    Why I choose this one?
You can find a lot of similar cams around, but after some research I found just one US importer. Then, each reseller point add its own brand but actually it's the same camera.
So I choose IPCam Central as seller, cause they have a website and I can find drivers, manual and software online for this cam (just in case) even the box comes with a mini-cd. To be honest, I didn't even use the mini-cd but the online files in that site, so I got the most updated software.

    Hands on...
I read a looooooot of bad reviews about the installation process, bad experiences, people hating the product, the seller, etc. and not only about this cam, other first brands like Logitech or Panasonic had bad reviews too.
Great all around web camera, (What's this?) This SmartEye web camera operates at up to 640x480 resolution, enough for most web applications. It does everything as advertised. Makes a good baby monitor or home security camera, viewable from iPhone.
Not enough info & description, (What's this?) This camera comes without any manuals. Only CD, which had some .Doc files with manual.
    FYI: Default user/pass: admin / 123456

More info can be found here:
    [...]

Device is not easy to configure. IE being easiest. Need to install 3rd party software for it to work.
Are you kidding?, (What's this?) This camera might be great...if you can get it to function. I couldn't get the software it comes with to run on Windows 7, and the mini CD will not go into my MacBook Pro. There is no user manual other than the mini CD. After two hours of attempts at just making the software work, I decided life is too short and this camera is too complicated to possibly be worth bending over backwards to try to get it functional. If something can't work out of the box in much shorter time than that...it doesn't work.

After this camera, I tried the FOSCAM and spent around 20 hours trying to configure it for remote access through my router. It never worked. Finally, I settled on the Astak Mole...works like a charm and only took about 10 minutes to setup.

    Logitech 720p Webcam C905

Longer cable, please., (What's this?) This is one of the best cameras for the price..but, as many who own it know already, the attached usb cable is a bit short....(not a problem after I added a long extension)..setup is easy, features are good..sound is good..and with a long extension, it is versatile. Logitech is a trusted brand.
Papa's New Favorite Toy..., (What's this?) There's nothing like having a two-year old grandson tell you that he wants to "see" you. That spurred my spouse to ask me to research webcams so that our grandson could see his "Papa." After reading the reviews on Amazon and several other web sites, I decided to purchase the Logitech 720p Webcam C905. At the time I made my purchase, Amazon had the best prices I could find.

The camera is tiny and clips easily to our monitor; however, because of the distance from our computer, we must purchase a $20 cable to use the clip-on. We have not yet done so. We prefer the clip to using the 12" stand since there is less likelihood that we will knock the camera down. The picture clarity is excellent and we have experienced no problems with that feature. Sound quality is good.

We use the camera with Skype and had no problems with respect to installation and connectivity. I particularly recommend that individuals who are not tech wizards read the first several "most helpful" reviews. These enabled my spouse to quickly install the webcam and avoided frustrating moments.

Kudos to Amazon on packaging this product for shipment. The camera comes in a small, plain brown box which provides no clue as to its contents. Since electronics sometimes mysteriously disappear during the delivery process, this plain, brown box packaging provides an additional measure of safety for your purchase. I would not hesitate to recommend this webcam to anyone who asks about it. In my opinion, the Logitech 720p Webcam 905C is a five-star purchase.
vaakro, (What's this?) Don't regret the purchase, it has everything I need for my video chats and ability to create videos. My PC system is low on hardware, you need the latest hardware with plenty of ram to get the max out of it. The video camera still does a good job even thou my computer is a "dino" (P4 2.00 gigs - 720 ram). Will get a much better PC soon and I will be able to get the mosts out this video camera. For the price this camera is worth the money and more. I would give it a 5 star except that the clip-on system they provide needs improvement.
Wonderful for Skyping, (What's this?) I live in CA, my mom in NC and I was pregnant in 2011 so I wanted my mom to see my progress and the baby. I bought this for her as a gift even though she is not what I would call computer savvy. She was able to read the instructions, hook this up on her laptop and we skype weekly. Great visibility, portable and easy to use. She takes it on road trips so I can skype with other family using her webcam.
Great webcam with a lousy mic..., (What's this?) The 905 is a great webacam, with auto focus, clear and sharp picture, and a nice quality of construction...really everything you could expect of a higher end, 720p webcam. The only real problem, and I didn't rate it lower because of it, is that the built in mic "pops" alot while using it, making it pretty useless. As I have never had a webcam that actually had a good mic built in, from any manufacturer, I'm not going to hold it against an otherwise sterling performance. If your serious about recording, you should invest in a decent mic to go along with your great webcam, it's just common sense ;-)All told, if you want a great cam, at a great price, with all the bells and whistles, this is a great choice.
I love this for traveling and use it constantly, When I travel, I often need to do Skype activities. Either I'm Skyping home to talk with my family, or I'm doing business related Skypes with editors from around the world. I love my Logitech laptop webcam for these purposes.

Setup on my laptop was quite easy. My boyfriend has a matching one so we've installed this both on XP and Windows 7 systems. In both cases the installation went smoothly and the Skype was up and running in minutes. The unit is small, portable, and easily clips onto the top of the laptop.

The image quality is great. I've done "tours" of my rooms on a Seattle oceanfront, at the Tower of London, in Bordeaux, in Ukraine, and in numerous other locations. So there's been foggy skies, dreary skies, dark skies, super-sunny skies, you name it. The webcam has performed admirably in all situations.

I've used this both for one-on-one chats as well as roomful-of-people chats where various people had to be heard. It's been great. There haven't been any issues with sound quality or with visuals. We've had situations where we held up graphics and other visual items and the person on the other end can see what we're showing them.
Small n simple, (What's this?) Small simple n cheap.
Mic in camera works great. Excellent low light picture, sends HD via skype depending on connection and skype version. Portable, quick to setup. No echo.
Great Cam..., (What's this?) Love the autofocus. Huge improvement over my older unit and this is one of their mid priced units and dated at that. Got it at a great price too. Happy camper.
great webcam for the money, (What's this?) This webcam is a great bargain for its price. The picture quality is very clear. In addition, the installation and use if the webcam is so easy. I definitely recommend this webcam for everyone.
    great product, (What's this?)

IPCC MPEG4 Professional Wireless Network Camera, with MicroSD Memory slot, Audio one way, Night Vision, Motion detection White

IPCC Wireless night vision camera, (What's this?) Generally OK, but I'd wish the motion detection was not so sensitive; coz it's literally recording every minute when the night vision is on because of some flickering from the IR LEDs...
    The shipping was really fast.
Browser software or firmware problem?, (What's this?) This is a knock-off of the Sharx IP cam and Y-Cam Knight. It's got the same hardware, the major difference is the software. I can handle that.

PROS: Good, very sharp image quality, 640x480. Picks up audio well. IR LEDs automatically sense light and dark conditions. Good size and good mount, just get your own screws as the included ones will strip. Wired and wireless connections are functional. Integrated micro-SD expansion slot works and is discreetly placed. Included setup software will find the IP address of the camera on your network so you can log into the camera and start viewing on your home network!

CONS: The integrated browser software is mediocre at best. There is no included preset SMTP settings for major services like Gmail, Yahoo, etc. Not too big a deal breaker as you can Google the necessary ports and settings you need. Herein lies my problem. The other cameras in my network have all the same settings for my email, FTP, SMS, etc. and they send the images just fine. This camera will not sense motion and will not send images via SMTP or FTP. I even tried to use the micro-SD function but it will not sense motion and record to the memory card.

In conclusion, I would not recommend this camera if you intend to use the included software. Maybe I got a lemon? I am using a 3rd party software and everything works fine now. I will be returning this for a different camera.
Great deal for the money, Great camera, long range night vision, audio, SE memory slot, works with my IPhone, and great customer support. Best deal for the money. I bought 3 for the price of one.
Good camera great deal, I own the camera, for two months now, and I am very happy with it. It has a lot of features only more expensive cameras have, like MPEG4 compression, a mini SD slot, motion alarm, audio and IPhone support.
I am using it with IE on a PC and an IPhone.

It was very easy to install and the picture is very good. When I took it out of the box, and tested it, the picture was blured, but when checking the camera closer, I realized that the camera lens is covered with a protective plastic foil, which I had to peel.

The camera became sharp and clear and the colors are good.

    Good purchase.
Horrible Product - Don't buy this, (What's this?) I purchased this product thinking that it might be a less expensive version of the Sharx Security VIPcella-IR SCNC2607. I own 2 of the Sharx cameras and they are an excellent product, but I was looking for a bargain. The cameras are similar in appearance, but the IPCC MPEG4 Professional Wireless Network Camera is a piece of junk! The video from it is terribly distorted. In addition, for the few minutes I had it connected, the camera rebooted itself twice. Also, the control it installs does not work well in either IE 8 or IE 9. Parts of the Camera UI would not display correctly in the browser. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this camera. Spend the few extra dollars on a Sharx! The IPCC will be getting returned.

  • Motion detection alerts via email and FTP. The camera comes with useful alarm tools. It has built-in functions that can generate alarm triggers via email and FTP. The IPCC camera uses an IR-cut filter. IR light is filtered out so that it does not distort the colors of images as the human eye sees them. Infrared Night Vision - The mini camera has 30 infrared LEDs to provide high levels of "invisible" light in dark environments.
  • MPEG-4 compression for reduced bandwidth and storage usage.
  • MPEG -4 is allowing smooth moving images to be streamed over lower bandwidth connections
  • Unique and elegant design Wireless camera with up to 50 ft night vision
  • Support smart mobile surveillance anywhere anytime. Micro SD card slot allows footage to be recorded and motion alerted locally to the camera and be played back within a web browser, up to 8GB.

    Airlink IP Camera (AICN1500W)

Airlink IP Camera, (What's this?) This camera is extremely difficulty to set-up and get remotely access to the camera, the support is extremely poor and not very helpful. Since I purchased the camera I haven't been able to connect to my camera remotely( over the internet ). I so very sorry I brought this camera!!!!!!!!!! I feel like taking my hammer and breaking it into thousands pieces because it useless for internet monitoring. I can ONLY access the camera from my home computer, not from my computer at work and not from my Ipad.

    Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 (Black)

Needs drivers, has problems even with them, lousy bracket, The picture quality is good, and it worked with Skype on Windows XP. However, you need to install drivers (at least with XP), and it still wasn't accessible straight from Windows. By comparison, with Microsoft's LifeCam, I just plugged it in, and it worked with everything.

Also, who designed that bracket? It doesn't grip laptop screens or anything else; it just falls right off. If you try to sit it on a flat surface, it's not level and awkward to aim. I wouldn't recommend it.
Great little webcam!, (What's this?) It installed very easily on my Mac mini. The picture quality was clear and the other person could hear me fine with the microphone. Even in low light the picture is acceptable.
It works, (What's this?) This was the first time I ever purchased a webcam, so can't compare with others. Installation did not work the first time. I am running Window7 and had to install driver/software a 2nd time before it worked. After the first time, it didn't want to detect the device. Other than that, I was very satisfied with the product. The picture was clear enough and colors accurate. If your looking for an inexpensive webcam, you can't go wrong with this one.
OK if you can figure it out, (What's this?) Decent low-end webcam, and the autofocus is a nice touch, but this product suffers from extremely skimpy instructions. Some notes for Mac users: yes, you can use this with FaceTime, but only if you first launch iChat or a similar video app and use that to "take over" your Mac's internal iSight camera. Once that's done, launch FaceTime and it should default to the Rocketfish camera. If you launch FaceTime first, it'll always use the internal camera and ignore the Rocketfish webcam. Also, I recommend installing the iGlasses utility (shareware) to permit adjusting the camera's color balance and contrast.
Great Web cam, Great web cam....easy to download, great pic, sound, the only con would be the attachment is not that stable on my laptop but works for what I use it for. Which is to web chat with relatives from around the world.
Wonderful camera, (What's this?) I like this product, the face recognition is there with me, the microphone works with the camera (especially when I have the face recognition off, it is perfect). I can use the camera or set it up for IM's, using it in any of the dating or social websites I have tried. The price was excellent, shipping great, sellers perfect. All good. It's fun too as there are lot's of background settings and mixers.
Excellent Buy!, (What's this?) The Rocketfish RF-WED2C 8mp USB webcam was a very smart purchase. I own a Mac Mini and was surprised at how easy it was to set this camera up.
    Webcam, (What's this?)
Works Pretty Good!, (What's this?) Slightly grainy video quality but very good for the price. Auto-Focus works well. Came in great condition even though it was used. Mic is good too.

Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000 USB Webcam (1-Pack), OEM

Great 1st webcam, Skeptical because there were no reviews. So I went on CNET & they give this cam a great review. Its bendable, so it'll adjust to whatever size ur screen may be- prolly best for flat screen desktops that arent completely flat & notebooks. No cd to install. Just hook it up & ur on ur way. It wants u to make a microsoft id, which i did, but thats a waste since i cant seem to log onto the chat. So just go to skype & sign up- much easier! This cam is great 4 travel. Just take it with u- no big lens to get busted- hook it up 2 whatever computer & log onto Skype & ur done. U can do black & white, and a few others.

    Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000

NOT good for windows 7, I bought this back when I used to have an XP system. It was fine because you could easily program it to use another microphone over the built-in one. That was a GREAT thing because there is nothing but a constant EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE noise. This feature was taken away with thier recent format you have to get to make the webcam compatible with 7.
good product, (What's this?) I bought this for proctor testing for online classes. The quality of the pic is not great. I have not used the sound so I do not know what to expect. I also have never used another cam like this so the quality may be very good. I don't know. Overall, it does a great job for what I need it for and it's a good price.
Great camera for the cost!, (What's this?)
Amazing, (What's this?) I ordered this product on July 3rd, 2011 and it came July 9th, 2011. It is very much worth my $19.99 and it could've been better! I'am not new to webcams, but this byfare is the best webcam I ever owned :) Thank you Amazon.
great for on the go, (What's this?) Fairly good camera for taking with you if you don't have one built in. Not HD but you can get that from your camcorder.
Better than I expected, a great buy for my money!!, (What's this?)
Great Little Webcam, (What's this?) I was pleasantly surprised after connecting this webcam (installation was a cinch, unlike another I tried). My computer is no spring chicken and my video card would win no races at Aqueduct. Yet, this Microsoft LiveCam performs magnificently. I would have done a video review, but I didn't want to scare half the population with my old face and big eye glasses which the camera "too accurately" reproduces - I only freak out people I know with it. Kidding aside, yes the image is great and equal to costlier units. The cam itself is small. unobtrusive and needs no adjustments. It just works and works great. I wanted to give one to Uncle Harriet, but I don't think it works with a Commodore 64, but it works fantastically with computers a few years shy of Wi Fi.This review comes from the heart, I was never invited to coffee at Bill Gates' house. It just is a great product.
Love this little piece of equipment...., (What's this?) Clear, takes great pictures, visible to other party when using SKYPE. Great buy for the price. As far as sound is concerned I have found I still have to use headset with mic.
Wonderful, (What's this?) This is a wonderful camera for someone who just wants to hang out on skype. It is very good for low light and bright light. I even have huge windows behind me that the camera has to face and it handles the sunshine wonderfully. The camera was very easy to install. It just took on CD and the computer did the rest. It has been about a year that I have had it and it still sounds great and has a good image.
Decent low cost web-cam, (What's this?) We purchased this as an additional web-cam for our household. I have the Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 / QuickCam Pro 9000 which we use on our laptops, but we were looking for one to stay put on the desktop. After searching reviews and prices I settled on the Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000.

Install and set-up was easy. The first time using it wasn't the best, but after tweaking some of the settings we got to where we were satisfied with both the sound and image. I would say that if you are just looking for a basic, easy to use web-cam at a very reasonable price, this is a very good option. But if you're going to be using it a lot and want better sound, picture and features there are better ones out there.
